Mike Kemp

Starting out as an aero modeller at the age of 14, Mike soon got the bug for the real thing at 20, although he still flies models today when time allows.

Mike started gliding in 1975 from Challock, became an Instructor in 1976 and was Chief Flying Instructor of the Kent Gliding Club for 6 years until 1994. He has an FAI Gliding Gold 'C' with 3 Diamonds, gaining the 3rd Diamond a flight of 500 Km in 2004.

Joining the Turb Team in 2002, Mike gained his PPL in 1977 from a gliding conversion and has now accumulated some 3500 hours flying. Displaying as a member of the Turbulent Team has given Mike a new challenge allowing him to hone his precision flying.

Mike is also hooked on taking his glider soaring in the Pyrenees mountains, it's just something else!
