Alan is Team Leader and is responsible for all
aspects of training and display content.
Alan
started flying in 1972 joining the Kent Gliding Club. He became a Gliding
Instructor in 1978 and Chief Flying Instructor in 1995. Alan and his wife
Julie, regularly take their glider abroad for cross country flying
including mountain flying in
Spain
. He has attained
the FAI Gliding Gold 'C' Badge with three Diamonds.
Alan gained a PPL in
1979 by completing a Gliding conversion
of 7 hours and then spent many years towing gliders. Alan, Julie and
several other pilots from the gliding club bought a 1946 Vintage Cessna
120 in 1999 which is based at Headcorn. He then joined the Tiger Club in
2000 and became interested in formation and display flying gaining a D A
in 2002.
